The Foundry Gallery And Jay Peterzell Host Art

The Foundry Gallery invites you to see the exuberant “Woman in a Feathered Hat” painted by Jay Peterzell and explore fleshy form and probe beyond appearances to see internal emotional reality.

From Titian to Picasso, artists have painted portraits of women in feathered hats. Peterzell’s female portraits, like “Woman in a Pink Dress,” turn into landscapes of the human condition, with bodies, both clothed and nude, realistic and abstract, sexually explicitly or neutral, melt into internal states of contemplation, arousal and psychosis. Peterzell’s first training as an investigative reporter for Time Magazine, serves his exploration with brushes, charcoal and various techniques into his vision and expression of the reality beyond appearances both in his subjects, his artworks and his portrayal of the complexities of Life.
